Carvin' It Up | Social {Media } Butterflies' October Blog Hop

Hi All! Welcome to October's edition of the Social {Media} Butterflies' Blog Hop! This month our challenge for all is to "Carve It up." With Halloween only a few days away we figured it would be a great time to give our die cut machines, x-acto knives, and scissors a workout.

If you've been hopping along the way, you should have arrived here via Shay's blog.

If not, be sure to head back there and leave some love. There is a great giveaway involved to the those who participate and comment. ;)

Here is my inspiration for color and for carvin' it up:

A whimsical Halloween dress. Love the fall color combo and the silhouette and pleats against the backdrop of the red-orange shutter. Couldn't wait to play after finding it on Pinterest!!

I created this layout using my Cameo. If you follow my blog, you may have seen it posted already as it was part of my Little Black Dress DT gallery for this month. --Loved the Silhouette web cut and added texture by stitching and leaving stray ends for added "web" effect. Also, I added a bit of glitter glue to mimic "silky dew" on the web.

And, of course I had to make a few cards to celebrated the season/holiday:

Here's a closeup of one spooky card:

Lots of October afternoon Witch Hazel wickedness there. ;)

Fussy cutting here and made with scraps of Witch Hazel:

I hope to get back later with some Cameo "carved"creations from my archives.
Until then, keep hopping along and leave a little love along the way to earn yourself chances at two $10 Silhouette Cameo Download cards!! Shay and I are each giving away one!!
Remember the more you participate and leave "love" the greater your chances for winning.
Following me on Twitter "SuzMannecke" and Instagram (same id) as well as following me here on my blog increase your chances. Also, you will have til this Sunday to post your creation made based off of our color and carvin challenges. Be sure to tweet about the hop with my name included in the tweet @suzmannecke for more chances #SMBiGbloghop!!
Have fun!

The Champs | Crimson Corps and OZARKO Marching Band Festival

Couldn't be prouder of my eldest DS and his band members, color guard, pit crew and directors this evening as they took home the Championship trophy today!! Their hardwork, dedication & perseverance paid off!

WOLF | BLOW THE HOUSE DOWN :

The color guard costumes are so cool-wolf like and the hairstyles fitting to tell the story. Around 5 minutes plus, the band forms a wolf howling at the moon. The props are really cool trees with the center one looking like a wolf's face; complete with eery eyes. Enjoy!

My boy (red wolf T-shirt). *beaming momma here.
Hold it high. Hold it proud!
Be excited! You deserve it!
Story.well.told Crimson Corps!
Job well done! Job.well.done.

Fixtures, Fans and Faucets, Oh My! | Cabin Renovation

This week: Windows, doors, insulation, wiring & electrical work. Here's a pic from last Sunday:

Can't wait until tomorrow when we can see what else has been done. Mick and I spent nearly 5 hours yesterday making decisions about flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, fans and faucets. Feel like we accomplished a lot, which is good as it validated why we were so tired at the end of the evening! LOL

BBL with more pics. :)
Happy weekend to all!

Weekend Lens | Crazy Busy

This weekend was busy. Busier than usual. Busier than I would have liked it to have been. But, along with the busyness, there was a lot of goodness. A lot of laughter. A lot of fun. And a whole lot of beauty and love, friendship and families.

Friday night started with football game, marching band, tennis match and scrapover at my friend Sweet Bs. Sat morning was marching band contest for Ian (sadly they drove all the way up to the venue-several hours away only to have to bow out of the contest bc the weather delays made it too late for the to return home after their performances-so all of that travel, time, money and energy fell to the wayside. I felt really badly for Ian. He took it pretty well though. I left Sweet Bs at 9 am and headed for home and to a photoshoot of three families. I took close to 800 pics in an hour and a half. Got a few keepers that way! ;) Then ran home to shower and change for a wedding. Lovely time, lovely couple, lovely venues. Weddings always make me nostalgic for when Mick and I said "I do" over 17 years ago! I particularly enjoyed this marriage because the couple really seem meant to be soul mates. And their love story is very reminiscent and similar to Mick's and mine (minus all of the calamities that befell our special day and honeymoon! Thankful for them that that is where our stories really differ! LOL)
Sunday the boys slept in and Mick and I headed to the cabin to tear down some paneling and check on the renovation progress. We got there to find all of our work had already been completed! Really good to see large progress being made. The crew are such hard workers.
Any way here are a few pics of this weekend. Most of them are SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera).

Whew! If you made it to the end congrats! It was a whirlwind weekend for sure. Is it wrong to say I was ready for Monday!? :P
