Social Media Butterflies Blog Hop | Inspired by Shay

Hi Y'all! Happy blog hop day! As promised, I am back with a layout I created as inspired by Shay's blog post from here: http://sbookinshay29.blogspot.com/2012/05/right-now.html. I decided to do a layout about what my DYS is really into right now. Without further adieu, here's the layout:

(Crop is a bit wonky. Sorry!)
I will also be giving away a small goodie bag of items from Studio Calico. A small goodie bag of items that are currently sold out of. A small goodie bag of items made of wood veneer? ;) Leave a comment here with for a chance to win. If you Tweet me a comment, I'll put your name in twice. Sorry internationals, this giveaway for domestic peeps only as shipping would be more than the value of the giveaway. Hope you understand. However, next month I plan to be giving away a GC that will be open to internationals too! :) :) :)

Social Media Butterflies Blog Hop Set | June 29.2012

Hi Y'all!

Since I am frequently on Twitter and a few scrapping message boards, forums, an online DT and whatnot, I recently joined a new "Social {Media} Butterflies" group that plans to host an inspired creativity blog hop each month.

Each month on the 29th, I'll share something I made, inspired by someone else on the blog hop list. The inspiration can come from an Instagram pic, a quote another participant posted, something I saw on the participant's blog, Studio Calico/ other online gallery, whatever I choose! (Sooo many choices! What crafter doesn't love lots of choices!?)

This month I'll derive my inspiration from Shay. Since I am at the bottom of the list-I get to be inspired by the top of the
list!

The hop will travel along like this:

I Guess It's Official Now:

I have some fun news to share. I was recently asked to design for this lovely online kit club:

And I couldn't be more excited to share with you next month's kit that I am playing with right now. But, unfortunately, you will have to wait a wee bit longer, until closer to reveal time; July 1.

In the meantime, head on over and see the scrapbooking awesomeness that is Little Black Dress Designs!! Check them out by clicking on the LBD's logo in my sidebar,  like them on Facebook, and keep up with the latest  LBD scrapping goodness on Twitter. You won't be disappointed!!

Also, I may have a sneaky or two on Twitter/Instagram before Reveal Day. :) You can follow me if you so choose at "SuzMannecke." (no spaces)

Have a blessed day!
xoxo

I Think You Are AMAZING...

...just the way you are. This is my nephew, Casey. He is smart, and witty, and all kinds of crazy talented with artwork and an expert on all things motorized which make loud noises. He's musical and funny, and lovable and adorably cute. I love him with all of my heart. He IS amazing.

So, is his Big Sis.
She graduated last weekend.
We all drove up to be there.
To support her.
To cheer for her and to show her and tell her how very proud we are of her.

We cheered as loud as we possible could for her and knew if her momma were still with us here on earth, she would most definitely be the very loudest one cheering. Without a doubt. We knew no amount of cheering would make up for, or replace the fact that Momma Linda wasn't "there." But, we knew that Shelby knew SHE WAS and is LOVED. By so many. That her family loved her and appreciated her and was amazed by her.
I mean look at her? She's stunningly beautiful! Confident. She's thoughtful and considerate and selfless. During the ceremony she looked back several times towards our family. Her family. She was not a teenager wanting to be sure we got the perfect pic of her. She was checking in on us. Making sure we were ok. Showing us her strength. Her resilience. Her grace.  Her selflessness. And here, what does she do instead of a thumbs up, "Look at me!! Look what I did!!" she blows a kiss of love back in thank you. Not just her nuclear family, not just her school family, not just her church family, but her community who have mourned along with her and have supported her (and her brother) through her/their darkest days.
She is a truly remarkable young woman. She is truly amazing. My heart overflows with pride and joy in knowing that great things are going to come from her and her brother!

These two amazing kids. We are so blessed to have them in our lives and in our world.

They
are
simply
AMAZING
just
the
way
they
are.

Hi All!
Dropping in with a few recent creations and a few pics from our Florida vacation. Finally got caught up on unpacking and laundry in time to repack for a long weekend with my family to celebrate my niece's graduation.

Here are a few creations that I made recently:
The first is a layout using Studio Calico's May Add-on; Brownie and a bit of the Get Messy Class kit. My oldest DS, turned 14 while we were on vacation. Still in disbelief that in weeks he will be headed to high school. Actually really in disbelief that I have already been driving him to the high school for band rehearsals! Oy! Time flies...

And this is a really simple yet fun card that I made for the soon-to-be graduate niece of mine. I knew I wanted to try this technique with the washi and Silhouette die cut lettering combination, and I have to say I am really happy with the results! I plan to make several different cards with varying sentiments as it is near instant gratification with fun, graphic results.

And, as promised, a few of the more than 1000 (and I am really being conservative on the number here) pics of our vacation. Sadly, I barely took out my big camera as it was just too fun and easy to take pics with my iPhone and Instagram app.
Here is the lovely, lovely place we called home for the week.

The view from the top balcony/veranda (no filter).
One can totally see why they call it the "Emerald Coast."
So. crazy. spectacular.

Back with more lovely vacay pics and perhaps a few more scrappy items in a few! Time to call it a night now. (YAWNNnnnn....)

Blog Vacation

Sorry folks that I've been away from my blog for a few weeks. I've been busy with school year end activities and family vacation. Spending more time at the moment making memories rather than scrapping them. But don't you worry, I'll be sure to be back soon with a few creations and some rather fun and exciting news! :) In the meantime, enjoy this view along with me:
